Over the last 30+ years I have developed a combination of specialties that have proven to be most effective for addressing common ailments that can interfere with our daily routines.
After working in the NHS as a medical secretary for 5 years, I needed a change and decided to follow my passions for movement and knowing how the human body functions. I initially took the fitness trainer route then qualified as a personal trainer specialising in core strengthening and functional movement for several years. During this period I gained qualifications through the CheK Institute, Premier and Stott Pilates. I still felt there were gaps in the knowledge I'd gained so enrolled on the soft tissue therapist diploma course at the London School of Sport's Massage (LSSM). Whilst on that course I suffered a cycling injury which resulted in me being unable to raise my arm without pain. After following the recognised route of treatment at a sports injury clinic and from lecturers on my course with little improvement, I came across David Fleming of Applied Movement Neurology and was amazed by the non invasive, light touch techniques he used which allowed me to regain almost pain free, full range of movement after just one treatment. I was so impressed that I booked a training seminar and further courses with him to learn some of the techniques he used. Combining these with the soft tissue techniques I had been developing, the postural strength training from CHeK Institute and Stott Pilates, I created my own multi-faceted approach to helping clients regain pain free movement after injuries, illness or medical procedures. These techniques can benefit anyone, whether they are suffering from work related aches and pains or trying to improve athletic performance for sporting activities.
